- 2 cups orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 2: Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Step 3: Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Step 4: Add the orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Step 5: Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
- Step 7: Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
