  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Spaghetti noodles

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Brown the beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Step 2: Add sauce ingredients: Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.
  3. Step 3: Simmer: Add water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Finish: Stir in fresh basil (optional) before serving.
